Instructions

  • Begin by preheating the oven at 400°F or 200°C.
  • Use a knife or food processor to finely slice the cabbage.
  • Heat a wok or frying pan on a burner over medium-high heat and add slightly greater than half of the butter into it, to fry the cabbage. Don’t brown it and give around 10 minutes for the cabbage to turn soft.
  • Mix in all the spices and vinegar into the frying cabbage, stir it, and give the cook a few more minutes before emptying it on a plate.
  • Add the remaining butter into the pan over medium-high heat to sauté the ground beef. Turn the stove to a medium-low heat once the meat juices evaporate.
  • Soon after, mix the fried cabbage with the ground beef and sauté them together for 1 minute. Take the pot off from the stove and mix salt and pepper into it to taste.
  • In a baking dish, take 2/3 of the cheese and combine it with the cabbage-beef mix while using the rest of it to sprinkle on top. Let the casserole bake for 15-20 mins in the oven until the cheese melts, bubbles, and turns brown.
  • Your casserole is ready to serve with a side of green salad.
