Instructions

  • In a skillet add oil and butter and sear beef from all sides to a golden brown
  • Transfer the meat to a deep pan and season with salt and pepper
  • Add sliced onions and garlic cloves in the same skillet and sweat in the same fat
  • Transfer onions mixture to the meat and season with cumin
  • Add a layer of sliced carrots, water and season with salt to taste
  • Seal and slow cook for 3 h 30 minutes at 205 F
  • Add a layer of sliced cabbage and tomatoes, season and cook for another 1 hour
