Instructions

  • To make low-carb mozzarella sticks, begin by lengthwise cutting string cheese.
  • Crack one egg and whisk it in a small bowl. Put the bowl aside for later use.
  • For the coating of the sticks, in a zipper bag, pour almond and coconut flour along with parmesan cheese and a dash of Italian seasoning, salt, and garlic powder. Give the bag a nice shake for even mix.
  • Before the final fry place the egg and coat in an assembly. First, dip the mozzarella stick into the egg and then roll it around in the zipper bag for a thorough coat. Freeze the sticks, before frying, for around 1 hour.
  • Pour oil, which rises up to half an inch in a small frying pan. Heat it up to a temperature of no more than 325-375°F as higher temperatures can lead to a poor cook with cheese oozing out of over-browned sticks. You can also use an air fryer for cooking the sticks at a temperature of 370-400°F for 5-7 minutes.
  • Lower each mozzarella stick into the hot oil and wait for it to become golden brown on all sides to know when it’s cooked.
