To make low-carb mozzarella sticks, begin by lengthwise cutting string cheese.
Crack one egg and whisk it in a small bowl. Put the bowl aside for later use.
For the coating of the sticks, in a zipper bag, pour almond and coconut flour along with parmesan cheese and a dash of Italian seasoning, salt, and garlic powder. Give the bag a nice shake for even mix.
Before the final fry place the egg and coat in an assembly. First, dip the mozzarella stick into the egg and then roll it around in the zipper bag for a thorough coat. Freeze the sticks, before frying, for around 1 hour.
Pour oil, which rises up to half an inch in a small frying pan. Heat it up to a temperature of no more than 325-375°F as higher temperatures can lead to a poor cook with cheese oozing out of over-browned sticks. You can also use an air fryer for cooking the sticks at a temperature of 370-400°F for 5-7 minutes.
Lower each mozzarella stick into the hot oil and wait for it to become golden brown on all sides to know when it’s cooked.
